A. You should forgive her and make up. I'm gonna throw some religion on ya. Not forgiving someone is a sin. So I think that you and your other friend should just talk it out with the girl. If you still want her to be your friend then invite her. There was probably something bothering her. Sometimes I get upset about something and take it out on someone I love. So please do me a favor. Just talk to the girl about why she was mad. Be understanding to her. Talking out the little problems in life will make your bond stronger. Be loyal and always be there for one another.

Is Single 1 tax status the same as being married, but withhold at a higher single rate?
Q. I got married in Sept. 2006. My payroll changed my tax status to Married 1. I ended up owing the IRS in April, 2007. (My husband never changed his status from Single 1.) My accountant suggested that I file as Married, but withhold at a higher single rate. After a pay period or two, I noticed that my payroll dept. did not do this. They claimed that their paychex system does not have a check box for that option. They switched my status to Single 1. I feel that not only is too much money being withheld from my paycheck, but also, can't I get into trouble for filing as a Single 1 when I am married? Does anyone have any recommendations for how my husband and I should file? (Our accountant last year did a Married, filing separately return. My… [cont.]

A. "Married but withhold at the higher single rate" and "Single" are the same as far as withholding are concerned. There's nothing wrong with your withholding being done that way. It would only be a problem if you were to file a tax return as "Single". How you complete Form W-4 with your employer and how you file your tax return are separate and distinct issues. Don't confuse the two! What I would be more curious about is why your accountant filed your returns as Married Filing Separately. You'll normally pay more tax that way. Married Filing Jointly is how you would normally want to file as you'll pay less total tax that way unless you have a very unusual tax situation.

How do I calculate 1/3 cup cooked pasta from uncooked?
Q. I want 1/3 cup cooked elbow macaroni. I can't figure out how much uncooked elbow macaroni to use. 1/3 cup equals one starch. I want to make a salad with fruit, vegetables, low fat mayo and artificial sweetener. The box of uncooked elbow macaroni says that 1/2 cup uncooked is 56 grams. My diet calls for 1/3 cup cooked and doesn't give it in grams. I'm terrible at math, and can't figure out how to calculate this. I've searched for conversion tables, but my search didn't produce anything. Can someone steer me in the right direction?

A. Pasta and rice both, depending on variety, absorb more or less two times their weight in water when they are cooked, in other words they approximately treble in volume. So for 1/3 cup cooked measure you need c1/9 cup (about two tablespoonfuls) dry. This is impractical to measure, especially with shapes like elbow which which can't be levelled smoothly as rice can. If I have calculated correctly, you need 12.5 grams of dry pasta. That's hardly worth cooking. It would be easier to cook a weighed amount, say 100g to make calculations easy, measure it when cooked (I would guess it comes to a bit under three cups), keep the result on file and use up the leftover macaroni in other recipes in the near future. Q. Hi I have 2 satellite dishes pointing at 2 different satellites. I have 1 cable between the location of the satellite dishes and the the location of the 2 decoders and 1 tv. I want to connect 1 dish to 1 decoder and the TV and the 2nd dish to the other decoder and the TV What is the best way to connect this please? I tried a splitter at both ends but it dosen't seem to do the job. Thanks

A. You will have to use 2 separate cables. Each cable has to supply the LNB with 2 different voltages for polarity switching. It uses 13and 18 volts so they have to be separate cables.

What is the difference between 1 mole of sulphuric acid and 1 molecule of sulphuric acid?

A. 1 mole of sulphuric acid would weigh 98 grams. one molecule of sulphuric acid has molecular mass 98. Basically the molecular mass is around the same as the number of protons and neutrons for all of the atoms in the compound 1 mole= 6.022 x 10^23 1 mole of sulphuric acid is 6.022 x 10^23 sulphuric acid molecules neumerically showing it . Sulphuric acid is H2SO4 oxygen has 16 protons and neutrons sulphur has 32 protons and neutrons hydrogen only has a proton now multiplying (16 x 4) + (32 x 1) + (2 x 1)= 98

Can 1/2hp garage door openers open a 2 car garage door without spring?
Q. Can 1/2hp garage door openers open a 2 car garage door without spring? One side of the wire on my garage door broke, right now the door is crooked. If I cut the remain wire, the door will not be sprung, will the garage door opener still have enough power to open it? This is just temp solution until I can get it fixed, but I need to know before I cut. Thanks. What I had to do last night was, I losened the bolt that was holding the wheel that was winding the wire, it released the spring's energy, then I just manually opened the door with a buddy. I'm going to hire a professional to fix it and wind it back to the proper tension though.

A. NO! Don't cut the remaining wire!. If you have individual side springs you have a fair chance of raising the door by giving it some manual lift assistance on the broken side. BUT- if your spring is a torsion rod that mounts horizontally on the wall right above the door I would have to advise you to please not attempt any action yourself, but contact an overhead door serviceman. Those torsion bar springs are LOADED with energy waiting to be released from the counter-wound springs and can be extremely dangerous when out of balance or suddenly released. With one half of the spring gone, this places abnormal overload on the remaining half, and without wanting to seem alarmist this does greatly raise the odds any jolting/erratic motion will be… [cont.]

How do I get a level 1 certification in High Powered rocketry?
Q. I've been making rockets for a while now and finally became old enough to get my level 1 certification. I chose to buy the Madcow Patriot (4"x56"). I have two questions: 1. What are all the steps in getting my level 1? 2. How do I show the Tripoli people that I built the rocket myself? (is taking pictures of the unbuilt rocket good enough, or do I need to physically show them that I am the one building it?)

A. First Step: You need to be a member in "good standing" of either NAR or Tripoli. So if you are not a member you need to join. Second Step: I think it's best if you have a mentor. Find a local club and a member who will walk you through your steps to certification. Finding a club is important because you will need a place to certify and a way to obtain a motor. Read through the certification requirements: NAR - Tripoli - go to and click on Certification and download the certification document

What is the probability that at least 1 of 2 will occur?
Q. I am doing a problem for statistics class that deals with the following question: What is the probability that at least 1 of 2 randomly selected batteries will be rejected by plan A? I have already determined that the probability of 1 battery being rejected is 2.5%, so would would it be for at least 1 of 2? Would you just to 2.5%^2, or is there a different procedure for "at least"? Thanks. @SV... So basically I would add the probability of those two instances? The probability of 1 would be 2.5%, and the probability of 2 would be 2.5%^2, so the answer would come out to: 8.75% Is this correct? I recommend everyone check out this answer, it helped me the most, especially zantu3's solution:

A. The probability that at least one is rejected is: Pr[first is rejected] + Pr[second is rejected] - Pr[both are rejected] 0.025 + 0.025 - 0.025^2 = 0.049375 = 4.9375% The reason we have to subtract off Pr[both are rejected] is because it is counted in Pr[first is rejected] and in Pr[second is rejected].

A. Ok.. i did that wrong... go here after you read the first part of bipolar 1, then keep clicking next article... Bipolar I Disorder is not a complete diagnosis in and of itself. When someone is diagnosed with Bipolar I Disorder, the doctor uses what are called specifiers to give more information about the patient s current condition. Specifiers describe the mood episode and severity of the illness that the patient is experiencing. If the person most recently experienced a hypomanic episode, often no further specifiers are given. Hypomania is by definition, a mild manic episode with no psychotic features. Therefore, it would be redundant to specify the severity of the symptoms and the presence of psychotic features. This diagnosis… [cont.]
