A reference, or a references point, is the intensional use of one thing, a point of reference or reference state, to indicate something else. When reference is intended, what the reference points to is called the referent. General ExamplesSome general examples are:

Q. I can find how to reference a tv series or one film, but how do you reference a movie series if you don't refer to any of the individual ones? Such as "the Harry Potter series" or "the Indiana Jones and Mummy franchises." Despite this, there is no agreed 'standard' for referencing all resources. Remember, references should always be correct, complete and consistent.
