How long does it take to search for Comcast remote code?
Q. I just got Comcast Digital and the Comcast OnDemand 3-Device "universal" remote doesn't work with my Olevia 542i TV (Olevia is not listed in the booklet for the remote; Olevia's website says RCA, YAMAHA, LG, or Philips codes will work but none do). So I'm wondering how long I will have to sit there and "Aim the remote control at the the TV and slowly alternate between pressing Power and TV" before all codes are exhausted. Any ideas? Thanks.

A. I have an ILO TV as well and could not track down a code. I called a Walmart location and the guy in Electronics said to use the codes given (if your cable provider gave you a list, Time Warner gave me one) for the brands Magnavox or Funai. One of the Funai numbers ended up working for mine.
