How to program a tv remote without the tv being on?
Q. My television is an older model Emerson and the power button on the tv itself doesn't work anymore. I lost the remote and I'm trying to program a new remote with the television off. We also don't know the code for the tv. What should I do?
Asked by Green1863 - Mon Sep 7 12:25:19 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. It is all about the remote. Either: Get a new universal remote with the codes listed in the book find the remote for the Emerson Go to the website for the maker of the REMOTE you are trying to program and see if they have the book of codes online.

Can I program this NEC VCR without a remote?
Q. I have been given an NEC VCR (VHG-103) without a remote control. I am wondering if there is any way to program this without it? All the other VCR's I have owned have had manual controls but this doesn't...well, not that I can see anyway. I am wondering if a Universal remote will work for this? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.

A. you may need to buy a high-end universal remote because cheaper remotes may not have all the buttons to carry out the programming you will be doing. I suggest you buy the Logitech Harmony One.

Some converters just use old codes from cable or satellite boxes. I know the RCA, Zenith, Insignia, and Channel Master do. If it's one of them, you should be able to program most universal remotes to control it. If you can get your hands on another remote for the same model, you could buy a "programmable" (also called "learning") remote and copy the codes. If you can get your hands on another coupon from someone who isn't going to use theirs, perhaps you should just buy another converter. There is a waiting… [cont.]

Can windows media center be used without a remote?
Q. I know I can do basic functions, but is there any way to use the program fully without the remote? In particular, I am trying to get it to only pull certain pictures from my files - I do not want them all playing in a slide show. Any help or ideas? Thanks in advance! Ah... there's my problem. I do need the remote. This is a media center edition, but didn't come with the remote. I've had this comp for 2 years and never played with the program before... I guess I'll need to buy a remote.

A. The Remote is required. Put only the Pictures you want to view in a folder. Name it and save it inside the My Pictures folder. Press the Green Start Button on your remote to open the Media Center Start menu, and then select My Pictures. To view the pictures in a specific folder, select the folder. Select Play Slide Show. Media Center will automatically display each of your pictures. You can use the remote to control the slide show by doing the following: Press the PAUSE button to pause the slide show. Press the PLAY button to resume the slide show. Press the left arrow button to return to the previous picture. Press the right arrow button to skip to the next picture. Press the more info button, and then select Picture Details to view… [cont.]

A. Oh that's TOUGH without a remote control... Google your TV's model number with the word remote...you'll find your original remote control available at a reasonable price...unless it's over 8 years old ! I hope not... But if you can't find it, go to either Target, Kmart...or lastly, Walmart. LOOK for the LG or ZENITH universal remote and buy the slightly higher priced one ($13 - $15) . This Universal remote is about the most universal unit that I have found ! I use this one almost all the time for customers with missing remotes.

A. The most simple way. Via MSN Messenger or Help and support "Remote assistance", however the individual needs to "invite" you. Both are done via an email address or ID. No IP is required to connect this way. This is how I support family and friends over the globe.

how can i install a program on a remote computer?
Q. installing a program needs to setup some characteristics manually. i want to know how can i install a program on a remote computer without setup progress (the program setup & options is done before by me!), it means installing will be done by just a double click on a desiered destination on remote computer.
Asked by samurai - Mon Nov 5 07:39:47 2007 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. To work on any remote computer you really need to use some kind of remote desktop solution. That way you can choose the setup characteristics easily. If you want the program that you are writing to auto install with no user input at the remote end then it sounds like you are writing a virus or some similar program. In which case you are acting illegally.
