A. The blinking light is alerting you to a problem. The electric motor used to shift gears goes bad on Honda quads with ES A service manual is required to read the code.

Samsung LCD HDTV Power light indicator blinks for about 5mins before the tv comes on. any know what can i do?
Q. When I turn on my Samsung 40" 530 LCD HDTV. It doesn't come on like it used to. It would usually come on in about a few seconds, but now the Red power light indicator blinks on and off for about 5min, before the tv actually comes on. Can anyone help? My tv is no longer under warranty so that pretty much throws that out the window. Is there anything I could probably replace? I did some research and people had some problems with their power supply and ip boards. but I'm not sure if their tv would actually turn on or thier tv just could never turn on, so I don't really know the difference in problems with thiers and mines.

A. >I did some research and people had some problems with their power supply and ip boards Most of these problems are related to capacitors going bad. Usually they slowly go bad so it's not unusual for TVs to become progressively more flaky before they stop altogether. It's likely that the problem is with the power supply, probably some electrolytic capacitors. If you are thinking of fixing the TV, I'd be hesitant to keep using it because a flaky power supply could damage something else in the TV. Having an experienced technician fix it with a new board will cost several hundred dollars. If you know someone who's handy with electronics it might just need a few dollars worth of parts or a used power supply from another TV with a busted… [cont.]

A. Means your car is in that gear and you have not shifted out of it. Your cable going from tranny to shifter is loose or come apart somewhere.

My indicator (VW Golf 1997) blinks at double speed but the bulbs aren't blown?
Q. Previously this has only occured when one bulb has been out but both are in operation. My high school electronics education would suggest that a capacitor has failed somewhere but where do I look to replace that part? This only happens on right hand turns, left hand turning is fine. All help and suggestions very much appreciated. Cheers
Asked by Rupert W - Mon Sep 17 14:13:07 2007 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Its not the flasher unit, if it works on one side then it will work on the other side!!! The flashing rate is down to the current being drawn by the bulbs (e.g. most flasher units are rated at 42 watts this relates to 2 X 21 watt bulbs). If the current is reduced then the flashing rate will increase (namely if a bulb blows). Check the wattage of the bulbs, maybe a 6 watt bulb has been fitted in place of a 21 watt bulb. The easy method is to replace both bulbs on the side that flashes fast. If this does not work then the problem is down to a bad connection or bad earth. This is more difficult to test for without equipment. Hope this is of some help.

My Hitachi 50v710 TV will not turn on and there's no blinking light indicator. What now?
Q. I recently changed the shattered lamp in my Hitachi 50v710 TV and just tried to turn it on, but it will not power on. There are no blinking indicator lights, nothing. After searching online forums, it appears that the light engine may also need to be changed. But would that prevent the power from even turning on? Thanks TV Tech 1. I just made sure that this wasn't the case. Unfortunately, it still won't turn on even after making sure that the cover was correctly placed.

A. Did you put the lamp cover back on? It has a safety switch that won't let the TV turn on if the cover is not fully screwed down and secure... And did you accidently step on the power strip? You could have turned it off.. Other than those two possibilities, you would have had to really damage something to stop the TV set from starting...I doubt you used a hammer to get the lamp out...

Honda CRV drive light indicator blinks?
Q. Now and then just driving along the green light on the shifter when in drive " D " starts flashing just like a turn signal would. If I stop and turn off the engine it will stop but may do it again at any time. The car seems to run fine, shift fine, it is just the light. I bought it new in 2002 and this just started happening. Anybody know whats wrong? I checked the oil and the tranny oil is fine and looks good. I live 90 miles from a dealer and it may not be acting up when I get there so why go if it is not serious. Help and thanks.

A. It may be possible if you have turned over 100,000 miles that it is a warning to get your transmission fluid and filter changed.

A. Maybe the key now has to be programmed. Lots of times they key disengages the kill switch and it has to be programmed to do so. Hopefully you have the spares until you get the other key reprogrammed.

Why does the the turn indicator in my '02 F150 blink faster when on the right side compared to the left?
Q. When I put my turn indicator on to signal right, it blinks much faster than when I signal it to make a left turn. What is causing this? It just started to happen out of the blue and it never did it before.

A. check both front and rear turn signal bulbs on that side and you will probably find one burnt out.

How can I stop the oil indicator beeping sound and light in 1997 VW passat?
Q. When I start the car and drive for less than 1 or 2 miles then the oil indicator start blinking and also the beeping sound, the sound is so annoying. There is always oil in the engine, when I check the level.
Asked by LM TWINS - Tue Jul 17 12:42:04 2007 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. The oil indicator is there for a reason. Like when you touch something hot, your pain sensors tell you to pull away. If you have plenty of oil then you have one of two problems. Either you have low oil pressure or you have bad sensor (sending unit). Sending units are cheaper to fix because many times they are just by the oil filter and on the outside (just twist off and twist off). If you have low oil pressure you have oil blockage or bad oil pump - most likely bad oil pump. But either way this is something should should definitely FIX SOON. You don't want to leave your fingers on something hot and you don't want to drive with the oil indicator on. Good Luck. === Don't forget to vote for the best answer - please - whoever it may… [cont.]

Sony TV light blinks 5 times and screen won't turn on?
Q. I have a Sony Trinitron and it will not turn on. The red LED near the timer/stand by blinks 5 times then pauses then continues to blink another 5 times. I did some research and found this: FIVE Blinks---AKB circuit (AKB), the timer/standby indicator blinks for about 30 seconds then goes to the self-diagnosis function. Something is wrong with the video. Check video out, Q705, 732, 761 and other components on the C board, also check Q218, 219, 220 on the A board. Also unit be in IK blanking, try turning up screen slightly. The Sony tech guy could not explain this and referred us to a local techinician who won't be back in for 2 days. Can anyone explain the issue with the TV or give any suggestions? This TV is only two, maybe three years… [cont.]

A. I have the same washer and just looked in my book. Here's what it says..."F" Variables (F4 to F16) (Electrical Problem) Select PAUSE/CANCEL twice to cancel the cycle. Select DRAIN & SPIN if there is excessive water in the washer. Re-select cycle and press START. If the problem remains, call for service. "FO2" (Drain Problem) Select PAUSE/CANCEL twice to cancel the cycle. Unplug washer or disconnect power. I can remember this happening to me a couple of times. There's nothing serious going on.

A. My gf's came on because there was problems with the ABS. But I had a light come on with no problem with the brakes, and it was a fault in the electrical system causing the light to come on periodically, sometimes for a period of time, sometimes just blinking, sometimes off for a period of time. Is yours blinking all the time, like regularly ongoing, as if it was a signal light, or is it sporadic?

A. Either the regulator on the alternator is faulty or you have a bad connection between the alternator and battery. Take it to an auto electrician as home done wiring can cause fires and can destroy the alternator.

A. Does it also say unknown remaining on your battery meter? Then, shut down your laptop, remove the battery, wait for it to cool down since it will be a bit warm, then install it again. Turn on your notebook and you should not be seeing the blinking indicator. It should also say on the battery meter how many percentage remaining you have for your usage. Hope this would help.

Will my auto fail its MOT due to a indicator light slightly pushed in on front bumper?
Q. When standing in front of the car you can clearly see the light without obstruction. The bumper is a little dented in, but no sharp edges or anything harmful, just the plastic part is pushed in a little. The light is secure, blinks correctly and is perfectly fine. Basically wondering what the rule is on the aim of a front indicator. Te light isn't exactly straight but it's pointing forward. I guess that's alright. It serves it purpose still.

A. Actually, the left blinker light is out and the right blinker is going faster to let you know that the left one is out. It's just a safety thing...whenever you hear a super-fast blinker (in case you didn't know already) you should realize a bulb is burnt out somewhere.
