Which file formats are supported by Magnavox DVD players?
Q. I have a Magnavox 8.5 inch portable DVD player, and I was wondering what file formats are supported by it. For instance, if I wanted to burn pictures onto a disc and view them on my DVD player, which formats would be supported? Animated gifs? Jpeg? Bitmap? Any help will be much appreciated. Thank you for your time. Just to be clear, I'm talking a CD-ROM disc, not a DVD.

A. It will greatly depend on the player. Your Owners manual will list all the formats that it supports. Note that if a format is not listed it most likely will not work. Home DVD players have come a long way but the portables don't offer as much. If you provide the model number we will check the formats for you.

A. A universal remote would work. You can also go to www.remotes.com and purchase a new remote for your player for $30.00. Check it out. Below is a link to your remote.

How do I hook my magnavox dvd player model DV225mg9 to my sanyo tv model DP26647?
Q. I have the three piece cabel hooked right now I just need to know where to plug the red and white connector cord at on my dvd player
Asked by Jessica B - Fri Oct 17 14:06:04 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. The inputs should be on the back of your dvd player. The yellow is for picture and right next to it should be the two inputs for the red and white audio cords. So a yellow, red and white goes into your tv, then the other yellow, red and white goes into your dvd player as explained above.

How do you record your video input channel Magnavox DVD Recorder MWR10D6?
Q. All it is recording is a black screen or fuzz. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.
Asked by xegetical - Thu Mar 13 10:55:01 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Your main signal (whether cable or box or whatever) comes into the DVD recorder. If just cable you must locate the channel you want to record on the dvd player. If from a "box" it must have the right channel and the dvd player set to 3 or 4. The dvd must then go to the tv. Use the tv remote and push tv/video until you get a picture. You should be set.

A. your speakers can only be in surround sound if you have a 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound reciever. hook your cable box and DVD player to the TV. And from the TV hook up the left and right audio output (red and white) to the reciever input.

I bought some philips dvd+r but they will not play on my magnavox dvd playr why is that?
Q. but they play on my computer.
Asked by cancan - Sun May 17 01:51:10 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Not all DVD players are compatible with DVD+R. I'm sure that your DVD player only plays 8.5 DVD, this means the original DVD. You are to have a better chance using DVD-R, and only if it's compatible with. The reason that your computer recognize it is because it can read compress data. When you make a copy of a DVD from the original, you have to compress it in order to fit in a smaller disc, which in this case your DVD+R, a 4.5GB. You need some program to shrink the information, or in this case, the movie. I hope that your question has been answered.

A. If your player does not, its very easy to make it region free. Its a one-time operation that only takes a few seconds. Usually you simply need a 4 digit code that is typed in via the remote. There are plenty of websites that give you step by step instructions and codes. Try this site:

Need a code to make a Magnavox MDVD65 DVD player region free. (Live in region 4)?

A. I also tried to find a hack for your player but all I can find is this: Power on Press Open/Close button Press these buttons in sequence: 330880 Close tray (press Open/Close again) Power off **Also: 330881 is Region 1, 330884 is region 4 and so on. The software of the player is not a state of the art so I don't think that it has a pop up window for region code.Just follow the instructions without worried about the screen! After you power off the player the settings are change Good luck!!!
