Which file formats are supported by Magnavox DVD players?
Q. I have a Magnavox 8.5 inch portable DVD player, and I was wondering what file formats are supported by it. For instance, if I wanted to burn pictures onto a disc and view them on my DVD player, which formats would be supported? Animated gifs? Jpeg? Bitmap? Any help will be much appreciated. Thank you for your time. Just to be clear, I'm talking a CD-ROM disc, not a DVD.

A. It will greatly depend on the player. Your Owners manual will list all the formats that it supports. Note that if a format is not listed it most likely will not work. Home DVD players have come a long way but the portables don't offer as much. If you provide the model number we will check the formats for you.

How to hook up Magnavox dvd-vcr combo to Sanyo HDTV?
Q. I've got the white-red-yellow inputs hooked up and can see the dvd menu screen while in input mode and watch vcr, but there's no signal to record. I'm not sure this dvd combo has a tuner and my Grandmother doesn't have cable-- so I'm not really sure what's wrong.

A. If you're in the USA, it doesn't have a tuner. VCRs with tuners are banned in the USA. You need to have the input and output to be able to record anything, but the asshats only give you one set of RCA cables.You'll need to get another set of RCA cables to be able to record anythng. She has a converter box eh? Well just hook the converter box to the VCR, then the VCR to the TV.

A. There are 2 types of DVD formats. DVD-r and DVD+r. Some DVD players only play one. It might be that it does not play DVD-r.

A. get three rca cables (red white and yellow) take the first and go from the direct tv receiver output hook up each color to color then connect that to the input of your vcr then do the same from the output of your vcr to the input of your dvd recorder then connect just yellow and white from the output of your dvd to the input of your tv now you can record straight from the satellite receiver to your vcr or dvd or from your vcr to your dvd and watch each one

A. Magnavox DVD. 0441 0442 0599 0799 0699 0247 0193 0093 0598 1. Press and hold the code search button until the red indicator stays on, then release the code search button. 2. Press and release the desired mode button (TV,VCR, etc.). The red indicator blinks, then stays lit. 3. Enter the 4 digit code. Note: after a valid code entry, the red indicator turns off. For an invalid code, the red indicator flashes. 4. With your device on, press channel up. If the device responds, no further programming is required.

A. What kind of remote? You need to be a bit more specific. If you are trying to program a universal remote or a television remote to run your DVD player, you will likely need to refer to your manual (this can probably be found online) of the remote itself or the equipment the remote is originally intended for (IE your TV or Receiver). In the manual it should explain how to setup the remote and in the back of the book should be codes for all brands of equipment. Generally what you have to do is just put in multiple Magnavox codes until you find the one that operates your equipment properly (make sure everything works because sometimes a code will turn it on and off as well as play, but if you want to stop you are screwed). A. Not all DVD players are compatible with DVD+R. I'm sure that your DVD player only plays 8.5 DVD, this means the original DVD. You are to have a better chance using DVD-R, and only if it's compatible with. The reason that your computer recognize it is because it can read compress data. When you make a copy of a DVD from the original, you have to compress it in order to fit in a smaller disc, which in this case your DVD+R, a 4.5GB. You need some program to shrink the information, or in this case, the movie. I hope that your question has been answered.

A. if you are connected to super video (s-video) or componect (red-green-blue for video then white-red for sound) then the vcr wont work. try just connecting the rca plug (red-white-yellow) and you should be fine

How do you hook up a magnavox mwd7006 dvd/cd player to a medicom digital cable box?
Q. We have a really old tv. It is a symphonic and it only has one coax cable hook up in the back. We have tried about every way to hook up the dvd player to the box and have failed. We were told to get a RF modulator and then hook the tv up to that and then hook the cable box to the modulator and then connect the dvd video and audio cables to the modulator. For some reason, the tv still does not play video or sound on the tv. One last note...our dvd player does not have a coax hook up. It only has an S-video out socket. A coax cable does not fit in it. Keep in mind...I am a girl. I am not up to par with todays "electro lingo". Be specific. Don't tell me to call mediacom and ask them because they walked us through it and the only result we… [cont.]

A. Did you run the S Video cable to the RF modulator or the AV wires (should be 3 of them red white and yellow). Ok, so to make sure I have it right, you have the cable box cable from the out to the RF modulator in, then the cable from the modulator out to the cable in of the tv. The tv is on the right channel, but sometimes the modulator has a switch too sounds stupid but check that too. If that don't work then try to run something else into the modulator such as a game system or vcr just to make sure that its working properly. If it is you might have faulty wires from the dvd player. Just a side note the yellow wire is the video wire and that is what sends the signal to the modulator that turns it on (if its one that is switched on via… [cont.]
