How to get music and recordings off a Philips 2GB GoGear?
Q. I have some old songs on my Philips GoGear mp3 player and I can't figure out how to delete the songs from it. Same goes for the old recordings. Anyone know how to delete the songs and recordings?

A. When you plug your player into your computer you should be able to bring it up has an external drive. You can navigate to the songs select them and push delete. A quick way to delete everything is to do a repair using the device manager.

Q. Alright, so I have a go gear philips Mp3 Player, it is 2gb I forgot the model number so I will just post a pic, Now, my Mp3 Player synchronized every song twice. Well, i just got a philips gogear mp3 2gb. and well.. i went to the file with all the stuff in it and deleted all the default music they have in there and i deleted the pictures in there and the videos. and i loaded alot of music into it from limewire. now, when i finnaly finished downloadinng into it it loadss really slow. and then a song already starts playing. when i go to pick "artist" it messes up more and starts playing a song and it looks wierd. and when i try to attempt to switch the song it freezes and messes up! please help mee!!! did i delete the wrong thing?! if so how can i get it back!?

A. The original Philips GoGear 2Gb was the worst piece of junk ever manufactured by a reputable company. If you have the HDD65/70 you will need to use a special program to load the music. The tagging system is unusual, and you can't just load stuff straight from your hard drive, or drag it from internet explorer. Download and use 'Herbert'. It works beautifully:

A. they are about 200 -250 i would recommend an ipod nano or iriver. for 250, you cna get a 4 gig ipod that plays videos and is smaller. and even cheaper if you buy a refurbished one...they are not bad.

My teacher saw it and demanded that i turn it off right away. It was in the update Process and she made me rip out the batteries and now it doesn't work.. what should i do? because i really miss my mp3 T___T some one help me...

Apparently now it can only hold 715MB- but how is it possible that the capacity has decreased??? Additionally, although my first move was to delete any files on it and start afresh, the player itself and the computer both show that there are no files on it whatsoever. So I can't play anything because it thinks it's too full to do so, and I can't delete anything because it thinks there are no files there to delete! I'm so disappointed as this was the first gadget… [cont.]

Can I still use my mp3 player if I lost the installation disc?
Q. I bought it about 9 months ago, and I installed it to my computer. Then about a week ago, a friend of mine was trying to free up space on my lap top, and he deleted everything I installed :( The bigger problem here is, that I lost the installation cd. Is there some other way that I can install it... download something from the internet maybe? A. They are usually visible in Windows Explorer if you can copy music across. However, you can download the Media Converter software ( not the Firmware versions ) from the Phillips website here: This should allow you to transfer the the music to your device.
