A. Movies are big time memory hogs. Even one movie can take a chunk of your memory if you have a smaller gig mp3 player. Pictures don't take too much memory but if you have a ton of them it starts to add up. If you want movies, music AND pics, I suggest you get something with at least 30 gig or so of memory. Those little 8, 4 and 2 gb devices won't cut it for anything more than music. As for deleting the movie, you probably have to hook it up to your PC and then delete the file from there.

What can I do to repair my Philips GoGear?
Q. I have Philips GoGear SA1356. I had been using it for quite long. I had stored a MS.Word file in it to transfer data to another computer, i think a month back. Yesterday I tried to delete it but it got stuck, so I tried formatting it completely and that process also got hanged up. So I stopped that process by giving end task in task manager then closed everything down and did a quick format. Everything got erased! Now that I stored few songs but when I tried to play, the player is dispaying "no files found" in folder and also in play list. I tried updating the software of my player by downloading the latest software from Philips website. I connected my player and pressed the start button to update but an erroe message shows that "System… [cont.]

A. The original Philips GoGear 2Gb was the worst piece of junk ever manufactured by a reputable company. If you have the HDD65/70 you will need to use a special program to load the music. The tagging system is unusual, and you can't just load stuff straight from your hard drive, or drag it from internet explorer. Download and use 'Herbert'. It works beautifully:

At the moment i have a philips gogear 2gb mp3 player. i have about 1.6gb left on it :L and i've had it for over 1 year now!! i delete songs and replace them, i don't keep them that much. And i'm only 13 and gonna have to find the money to pay for the ipod.. so you see where i'm coming from. Thanks

A. I would keep the original mp3 player. The 32gb is way too much memory and money for you to pay for by yourself. My 11 pages of apps is only taking up 2gb. So I would say get the 8gb although you won't get iPhone OS 4.0 software which doesn't seem that great anyway.

How do I stop WMP from deleting all the music off of my MP3 player?
Q. Hey, I currently own a Philips GoGear 30GB MP3 player. I use Windows Media Player to sync my songs from the computer to the player. Every time I sync a song, it has an automatic list of all the music already in my player, and says, "delete file", so that if I do not cancel the operation right after the sync, all my songs will be eliminated from the player. I know there must be an option in WMP to make it stop, but can I please be given a gentle push in the right direction? Thank you.
