I just purchased a new mattress/boxspring set, and I like them, but I purchased a new headboard too, and now I'm wishing I had gone with a more modern look. The headboard I bought is nice, but it bangs against the wall when we, well, move in the bed ;) and we live in an apt. You could put a boxspring on the modern platform bed, but it wont look good at all. Just stick with the mattress. Or, move your bed away from the wall about 1.5 inches and it wont hit the wall anymore. Q. My cat is getting older and can't jump high enough to reach the branches, and climbing the tree isn't fast enough for her, I guess. I want to use straps but no matter how tight they are, it seems like the platform will be unstable. I need a simple way to keep it from wobbling. Thanks! Cut the shape with a coping saw or jig saw. Add a support bracket to the under side of the shelf. Now strap it to the tree. Fill any voids with wood shims and caulking. Stand back and think of some way to make it look presentable...
