How to use an RCA TV as a Secondary Computer Monitor?
Q. Are there any cables that well allow me to use a TV with RCA inputs as a secondary computer monitor. PS:I just want to use this monitor to watch movies not to read text.

A. If your computer has a S-video output, then all you need is a S-video to composite video cable. If your computer does not have a S-video output, then you will need a VGA-to-composite transcoder box (NOT just a VGA-to-RCA cable).

why does RCA TV has a blank black square on the screen?

Why won't my cable work on the 1991 RCA TV I bought at a yard sale?
Q. We bought an old 1991 RCA tv at a yard sale for the exercise room, it has no remote. I split the cable (after the VCR) from our room and hooked the line to the tv but all I get is black snow. I get a couple channels when I put the rabbit ears to it but nothing with the cable line so I know the tv works. RCA doesn't have the user manual online for it so any help I can get would be great. Do I need a Coaxle to RCA adapter for my TV if the coaxle input on the back is broken?
Q. Was cleaning, TV fell on floor, ripped out the back connection for cable TV. RCA inputs still work fine on the TV, is there any adapter made from cable to RCA? Or do I need to just have the cable input fixed? I know that will probably be costly.

How to watch a DVD on an old RCA TV without the remote?

Q. I was just given an RCA TruFlat tv (built in vcr and dvd) as a gift. My (very) old tv, older stereo and vcr were all hooked up together and I could have "surround" sound thru the stereo and it worked pretty well. I want to do the same thing with the new tv without buying a whole expensive system. The tv instructions say it won't work with something that has built in DTS. I'm assuming that's my stereo. (I don't have cable or satellite) What are my options? Can I buy an inexpensive av amplifier (?) and just hook the tv and stereo to that? Good answer Jefferson! But I guess I negelected to mention that I tried that and it didn't work. What did I do wrong then?

A. Uh, huh. Well, here's the thing. You have a "stereo" which means "stereo" not "surround". You will then be limited to hooking up the red and white RCA outs of the TV, VCR, DVD, whatever, and into the amplifier and playing back through the speakers. DTS is an encoding yes, but it will not interfere with the analog playback of the TV, or the playback through the stereo. Solution. Dude, step up. Put the "stereo" in the garage, get an inexpensive true surround system, even the theater in a box is fine for your application, and be done with it. The 70's are over my friend.

What is wrong with my RCA Projection TV?
Q. I need a new TV. I have a 6 year old RCA projection TV. It loses audio on the cable every 1-2 weeks. The audio returns when I unplug&plug the power cord in. The back of the TV has Inputs 1 & 2 w/S-Video...& audio output jacks. I have the audio outputs going to my home theatre system. Is that where my problem is? Is it possible to open up the TV & replace the defective connections? The audio problem seems to only be connected to the TV output...if i switch the audio to the TV speakers...the sound is there...& no noise... The Home Theater is fine..it plays radio...dvd...whatever... seems that there is no prooblem in any selections... Q. My parents bought an RCA analog tv back in 2007 and I was wondering if the Wii could work with that? Or do the Wii's just work with digital TV's. It would bummer if thats the case. Does anyone know for sure?

A. As long as your TV has the yellow, red, and white plugs, then the Wii will work on it. I'd be shocked if the Wii didn't work on a TV that was made in 2007.

I have turned the FPA Lock on, Its an RCA tv and i use a comcast universal remote. Please Help?
Q. I acciedently turned the FPA Lock on and now my tv wont turn on. Please help. Ive tried holding up on the volume and on the front of the tv but that doesnt seem to work.

A. a few months ago my moms ex-boyfriend turned my RCA's FPA lock on. i have a RCA remote and now i'm trying a Comcast remote but nothings working. i hit menu and the menu comes up but i can't move around the menu and its pretty irritating. do you know the codes to the Comcast remote? i'm not sure if its the same everywhere but try: 11447 10047 10090 one of those 3 might help you out...they didn't do a damn thing to help out my situation though.
