A. You don't. Original remotes for devices are not user programmable. They are either factory programmed (with mask programming) or just built for the device. If they don't work anymore, then they need repaired or replaced.

How do I hook up the Sony SSB1000 speakers to my Sanyo TV?
Q. Do i need to buy speaker wire or anything else to connect the two devices or is the TV the wrong place to hook up the speakers in the first place? My TV is model#: DS24425 (Sanyo Flat screen, bought from WalMart a little over a year ago). I haven't yet bought the speakers, but if I were to venture that route to get better-sounding audio, I'd like to know if it'd be a wate of $ or not, since I'm on a "fixed" income...~Jonathan

A. Dont waist your money. To hook up speakers properly you need to hook them up to an amp and not the tv.

Why would my Sanyo plasma tv turn itself off randomly?
Q. My family recently purchased a 50" Sanyo plasma tv. The tv seems to work great, no problems with the picture, etc. We love the tv. Unfortunately, it turns itself off every once in awhile, and we can't figure out the reason. The last time it happened some black horizontal lines appeared across the screen for a few seconds before the tv turned off then back on. We wonder if there is a power issue, perhaps with the outlet we're currently using; hopefully, it's not a defect in the tv itself. If anyone has any other ideas about why this may be happening, please share.

A. 1. If it happens while your watching it, then the TV or device (cable box, video game console, DVD player, etc.) has a problem. 2. Some TVs will turn themselves off after a certain period of time after there is no signal. I.E.: Your watching TV from your cable box, you turn the cable box off, XX minutes later the TV turns itself off. If #1 is your problem, try using different devices (cable, DVD, XBox, etc.) and see if the TV keeps turning off. If it only turns off on a certain device, then that device is the problem. If it turns off no matter what device your using, then either one of the cables is not completely plugged in, or the TV has an internal problem. A. You NEED an HDTV set first... Then you either need an HD Cable or satellite reciever box... OR for local tv stations, you need a good outdoor antenna... THEN your TV station has to have it on their 1080/720 HD subchannel...not the SD subchannels... CW is SD since it's on the DASH 2 channel and not the dash one hd channel in my town...

A. If all the leads are in correct as you say then your audio outputs on your DVD player may have gone. The same happened to my dvd player a few months back. Borrow someones DVD player to test it. Use the same cables you are using on someone else player, if theres work then you will know the outputs are bad.

A. Tech man is correct unless you currently have digital cable or satellite. The box thingy that comes with digital cable or satellite will suffice as your digital tuner. If you don't have one of those box thingys already then yes, you'll need a digital set top box come '09.

SANYO TV with vertically scrolling text?
Q. I have a Sanyo Tv and it constantly has text scrolling down the screen. the text is like: audio output jacks key features auto programming Remote control digital control on screen display on-off timer auto shut off comb filter sharpness a/v input jacks and thats just a quick summary. A. Yeah, double-check the buttons on the TV set...if they are pressed by something or stuck down, that will cause that problem. Make sure they all spring back when pushed down, if they don't they need replaced.

A. Does your TV have a set of red and white plugs that say "out" or "output" next to them? Does your stereo have a similar set that says "in" or "input"? All you have to do is connect the two with an RCA audio cable. Most of them look like this: You might have some laying around your house. If you have a cord with red, white and yellow plugs, you can use it. Just plug in the reds and whites and leave the yellow unplugged. Any RCA cable with two male tips on each end will do. If you don't have one, you can find one at the electronics department of any store. Attach the red to the red, and the white to the white to hook it up.
